Ragdoll Breed

Ragdolls are so named because of their relaxed and sweet personality and are great for cuddling. They are a cat that is calm and quiet, yet very affectionate. They are extremely intelligent and can be easily voice-trained to come when their name is called, and can be trained to walk on a leash. Because of their relaxed personalities, they do not possess normal fighting instincts like other animals and must be kept indoors.

All standard Ragdolls have blue eyes, the more blue the better.  They have a thick, plush coat, which is semi-long and has a silky smooth feel. Their head should have good uniformity and have a modified wedge shape. They have a large frame, with the males growing to 15-20 pounds by 3 years of age, and the females to an 8-12 pound average at maturity.

But the most endearing and special quality with a Ragdoll is its wonderful nature and personality.  They constantly purr and love to be in your company. They are an easy going cat, with a good nature with gentle children and other accepting pets.  Of course they are all still individuals....with slight variations in their nature, but most Ragdolls will love their "people" when treated with love and respect.

                                                                                                                                                                                                          I have heard many people say that they are the "cat for dog lovers" because of their greet you at the door habits and following you from room to room and generally just wanting to be with their "people".  They truly are a loyal and lovable cat unlike any I have ever had.

My first breeding pair consists of a male who came from Austin Farm Cattery(Kim)who was a delight in assiting me in obtaining this adorable lilac mitted guy to be the future KING of DebsGems Ragdolls. His birthday is June and I named him Gemini Moonstone - AKA - GEM!

My bluepoint mink female came from Elegant Ragdolls (Jessica) who called her Julia. She was also born in June but named Jewel in keeping with the theme of the cattery name. Jessica is quite experienced and offers much assistance in becoming a breeder.
